This October 18th, at the New York City Center for Architecture on Laguardia Place, a milieu of students, professors, scholars, artists, policy makers, and other curious citizens gathered to preview the “2017 Zero Waste Design Guidelines”. This comprehensive resource will facilitate the restructuring of NYC’s waste infrastructure and revolutionize the way we sustainably manage our production/consumption and distribution/recovery.
Speakers from American Institute of Architects, The Rockefeller Foundation, Kiss + Cathcart Architects, NYC Department of Sanitation, and Mark Chambers, Director of the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability, introduced the new framework to reach New York City’s goal of zero waste to the landfill by 2030.
